Interview: Lady Beard
Months ago one of our photographers, Deegan Marie Photography, requested that we reach out to Lady Beard for an interview at Saboten Con 2016. I laughed a bit because as a fan of Lady Beard, I knew just how big of a star he was and figured that he, or his staff, would never in a million years accept our request. Yet, the optimist in me submitted an interview request anyways. To my surprise, one of his contacts got back to us seeking additional information and after months of back and forth emails, we got approved!
Here is our interview with Lady Beard:
Getting to meet the man behind the kawaii was unreal. Imagine taking your favorite professional, dressing him up in super kawaii gear, and then have him chat with you casually about his favorite video games and movies. It felt incredible to meet a celebrity who is so kind and genuine in person. It was refreshing in every way and he, and his manager, did nothing but treat me and my crew with so much respect and kindness.
If you are unfamiliar with Lady Beard, he is an Australian Professional Wrestler who now lives in Japan and acts as a 5 Year old Japanese girl. Yes, you read that right! He truly is an international treasure because he not only sings but also wrestles and dances. Personally, I covet him for his beard game as well, I have mad respect for folks who can grow an awesome beard! Â One of his most famous videos can be found here.
