Cosplayer of the Week: Joker’s Kiss Cosplay
Hey friends! I hope you had nothing but a wonderful week. We have a fantastic cosplayer for you this week by the name of Joker’s Kiss Cosplay! She has cosplayed as a number of powerful female superheros from Black Widow to the bae, Mera! Every 
cosplay she comes out with looks incredible and we were so excited to get a chance to interview her!
The Geek Lyfe: There may be a few Geek Lyfers who have not seen your work before, would you be alright introducing yourself?
Jokers Kiss Cosplay: My name is Brittani and I am 6th grade teacher by day but Geek by night. I have been cosplaying for 3 years. My favorite cosplay currently is Wonder Woman because of how strong she is and how strong I feel when I am her.
TGL: How long have you been into cosplay and what led you down this path?
JKC: I started cosplaying in 2014 when two of my really good friends invited me to Phoenix Comicon that year. It is really fun dressing up as characters that you have fallen in love with.
TGL: What has been your favorite moment?
JKC: My favorite moment…Wow, where can I even begin. From meeting my best friend because of cosplay to San Diego Comicon with him or just meeting so many wonderful people. But; I would say that my favorite moment in cosplay would be when little girls run up to me as their favorite superhero. Recently I attended a Coyotes Hockey game as Black Widow. This little girl was beyond excited to see me and ran up to me from a good distance and gave me this HUGE hug. To be the reason little ones smile and are really excited just warms my heart. It typically makes me tear up cause I’m so emotional haha.
TGL: What was the worst day for you in your cosplay career, what happened, and how did you deal with it?
JKC: Personally, the worst day of my cosplay career was when I dressed as Harley Quinn in her Suicide Squad getup for the first time. I was at Amazing Arizona Comic Con, (RIP) and this guy had asked for a picture. Of course I said yes, no big deal. Well shortly thereafter, I noticed he was following me and recording my lower half. At this point, I was really creeped out as I had already been extremely nervous about wearing short booty shorts and then this happened. As soon as I motioned towards the police, he stopped and ran away. It taught me a lot that there are going to be weirdos but at the same time to not let that stop doing what you love.
TGL: When you aren’t doing this, what do you do in your spare time?
JKC: As I mentioned, I teach 6th graders all day, every day!
TGL: Do you have any projects in the near future we should be excited to see?
JKC: I am currently awaiting my new Wonder Woman suit but we are also working on something quite, MARVELous ?
TGL: What advice do you have for any aspiring cosplayers out there?
JKC: Don’t be afraid of what others are going to think about your costume. It’s yours, not theirs. Make it your own and just remember to have fun!
TGL: You can bring one fictional character from any universe to our world and they are your best friend for life. Which character is this and why?
JKC: Which character is this and why? I would bring The Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who. He is a lovely person and while he has his faults, he learns from them. Also, ha has a T.A.R.D.I.S!
TGL: If you could live in any Video Game universe, which one would it be and why?
JKC: I will be cliche and choose Super Mario Bros since it’d be super cool to have a Yoshi!
