Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Wife, Nosferatu Comes Back To Unlife
As a fan of monster movies, there is one that is near and dear to my heart, Nosferatu. The original vampire film that launched bloodsucking undead into our nightmares and eventually the horror that was Twilight. Comic Book Resources describes it best:
Robert Eggers, who won acclaim at Sundance for his feature debut “The Witch,” will write and direct a remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 horror masterpiece “Nosferatu” for Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8.
Deadline describes the untitled film as “a visceral adaptation” of the original — itself an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” — “that brings the horrific vampire of Eastern European folklore back to the screen.” Via
I can not explain to you just how excited I am to see this remake. Hopefully it will spark the flame of monster films and we’ll be able to see a few other beings of unspeakable horror hit the big screen as well! Although we’ve had a few remakes recently from Frakenstein and Dracula, they were alright at best and focused more on the action side of things rather than the gritty darkness of a world filled of vampiric beings. Rumor had it that various directors planned to revamp the monster movies to fit in the same universe and eventually have an Avengers type of film that included all of them united on a common front. Personally, I want a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen type of film but I suppose not all dreams come true.
If you could have one favorite monster film get remade, what would you chose?
