Agent Carter: ABC Green Lights Second Season
The assignments do not stop with just season 1, my friends.
The Captain America spin-off starring Hayley Atwell averaged a relatively modest 7.6 million viewers and a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 this season when including seven days of DVR playback. The period action-drama, which took over ABC’s Tuesday night fromMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during midseason, was considered very much on the bubble for a pickup. Though ABC did not give an episode count, we’re hearing they’re ordering another 8 hours, same as the first season.
The Marvel and ABC relationship seems thick as thieves with S.H.I.E.L.D. also doing incredibly well for it’s second season. One question that remains is what the status is for S.H.I.E.L.D’s spin off is. Should they also get the green light, we could see some competition for DC TV shows such as Flash, Arrow, Gotham and soon to be Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. Let’s also not forget about Netflix’s Punisher and Jessica Jones coming to Netflix.
As the war between Marvel and DC continues, we the fans, are getting showered with all this awesome content that we wished and prayed for as children.
