Best Pompadours In Anime Ever

Hey folks! This is Darth Mexican and anyone who knows me knows that I have a love for pompadours. If you are unfamiliar with what a pompadour is, it is a type of hairstyle that requires the person to use their semi-long hair and comb it forward and then back in order to shape it to stand. The most recognizable pompadours are Danny Zuko from Grease or various greasers from Outsiders.

The hairstyle is typically adopted by delinquents or rockabilly fans. In anime, they are almost always the former as they represent those outcasts of society who disregard all rules and focuses solely on what they want out of life. I have no idea why I adore pompadours but they are fantastic and I feel that an article must be written to point of the best pompadours in existence. More than pompadour I like to play Agario, but I’ll tell you about this browser game next time.

I should mention that all pompadours are the best.

Takuya Kimura (Redline)

Takuya is a daredevil driver with dope pompadour who falls for a beautiful woman. The art style of this film is incredible and they spend plenty of time showing off his hair and him combing it.

Franky (One Piece)

Besides the fact that Franky has the best hair style in the show, he is also a cyborg that has modified his body to be able to assist in the many misadventures his pirate crew embarks on. These enhancements range from strength to full blown being able to fire missiles from his body. It should also be noted that he hardly ever wears clothes, usually nothing more than an unbuttoned shirt and a speedo.

Bulat (Akame Ga Kill)

Bulat is an assassin of the Night Raid with immense power and years of experience. This assassin isn’t just super dope, he also has a heart of gold and an attraction to men when he is not defending his friends or on a mission.

 Kuwabara (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Kuwabara was introduced as a rival of the main character, Yusuke. After being thrown into the same danger as Yusuke, they became friends and fought beside one another as friends. The fact that both of them have such delinquent attitude no doubt helped them form such a bond as neither would ever back down from a fight, no matter the odds.

Space Dandy (Space Dandy)

Space Dandy is a goofball who travels space on the hunt for aliens no one has ever seen before. Each episode is a misadventure filled of confusion and entertainment. He has a heart of gold and a weakness for the particular curves of women.

Takamura (Hajime No Ippo)

Takamura is pretty much what every man secretly hopes to become in our life time. He was a young thug who thankfully met the right teacher and was taught to box professionally instead of commit crime. Despite his many flaws he puts everything he has into his passion, no matter the amount of suffering it entails. Every victory he earns makes him both more cocky and yet inspiring somehow.

Metal Bat (One Punch Man)

In a world filled of monsters and super villains, Metal Bat stands as one of earth’s mightiest defenders using only a metal bat as his weapon. With it, he destroys most enemies and protects the innocent, all while having a badass pompadour.

Josuke (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable)

Josuke was one of my first experiences of the JoJos franchise. I was not disappointed by how this hero with a heart of gold cared so passionately about his hair and its reputation that he would almost kill people over it! During the series he can be seen tending to it and looking dope all while protecting his friends and going on misadventures.

Tatsuya Himekawa (Beelzebub)

Tatsuya is a frenemy in the series of Beelzebub who is introduced as a major enemy but eventually finds himself not only hanging out but becoming friends with the main character. He was one of my favorite characters because it is always great to find out what those past villains do with their life after being thwarted by the hero. Although he doesn’t have much in terms of physical strength or technique, he has quite a bit of money which he uses to purchase muscle.

I hope you enjoyed our list of the greatest pompadours ever! I should not that this is an ever growing list due to the fact that all pompadours are fantastic and do nothing but enhance whatever show they are in. If you have any more recommendations for characters with pompadours, be sure to comment and let us know!
