We got the chance to interview one of our favorite D&D podcasts: The Four Orbs! They are a great group of content creators who come together to have fun and play Dungeons & Dragons! When we heard that they were hosting their own D&D Charity event, we had to interview them about it!
The Geek Lyfe: Who are you?
Four Orbs: Four Orbs is a long term Dungeons and Dragons story in podcast form where the cast is me (the DM) and five players. We are an actual play podcast that cuts a majority of the game rule talk so that the narrative itself is the focal point. We currently have 69 full-length episodes out and available for listeners along with several one-shots to help build the lore of this homebrew world.
The Geek Lyfe: What is the event?
Four Orbs: Sunday, February 2nd from 11 AM – 8 PM CST, we will be streaming live on Twitch for the 3rd time. We are doing this for D&D ExtraLife. We are new to the Twitch platform and to celebrate our soft openings of streaming routinely the past two Monday nights, we are showing our dedication to the platform with a 9+ hour stream.
The Geek Lyfe: Why?
Four Orbs: What better way to launch our Twitch stream than to help the children?! ExtraLife is a charity organization that donates the proceeds they receive to the local children’s hospital of the host. For us, South Alabama Women and Children’s Hospital is a part of the Children’s Miracle Network that partners with ExtraLife.
The Geek Lyfe: How can folks best help out?
Four Orbs: Watch the stream and donate what you can! There will be directions during the stream as to how you donate. Any donations we receive directly during the stream will also go to ExtraLife. We will also be donating our Patreon support for the month of February to the cause.
