Crunchyroll Announces 2019 Anime Awards Nominees
Recently, Crunchyroll announced the nominees for the third annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards, which celebrates the best in Japanese animation from the last year.
The nominees were selected by a panel of judges, and Crunchyroll fans are voting for their favorites in each category this week! Voting will close on Friday, 1/18. Last year, over 2.1 million votes came in across various categories!
Voting is now live for the third annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards presented by Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5, which celebrates the best and brightest in Japanese animation, honoring your favorite series, characters, moments and more from anime in 2018
Fans can vote now across 15 categories, including Anime of the Year, Best Film, and Best Director at crunchyroll.com/animeawards
New categories this year include:
Best Performance by a Voice Actor, both in Japanese and English
Best Character Design
Best Director
Best Fight Scene
MEGALOBOX was the most nominated series this year with eight nominations
This is My Hero Academia’s second year nominated. In 2018, the series was nominated for 8 categories, including Anime of the Year. This year, our judges awarded nominations for Best Animation and Best Boy.
Voting begins January 11, 2019 at 12:01AM PT and will close on Friday, January 18th at 11:59PM PT.
Crunchyroll is also running a contest for their fans. Any users who log in to their Crunchyroll account and vote in all categories will be entered to win a one-year subscription for Crunchyroll Premium! They’ll be selecting 10 winners!
