My name is DeAngelo Murillo and I am the owner and creator of The Geek Lyfe. In 2012 I started this brand with the sole purpose of helping support our geeky community. I have been blessed with the chance to work with fantastic people and help those in need from organizing Dungeons & Dragons charity events to help Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Networking and Nakama that is focused on connecting content creators together, Cosplay photoshoots that provides cosplayers and photographers a safe environment to create art and so much more.
On top of all of that, we do whatever we can to spread the good word on everything happening in the geeky world from cosplay, conventions, comics books, anime, and more. However, over the years we’ve accumulated costs from software, convention passes, travel expenses, server, website, and email fees etc. At first, it wasn’t so bad and I could pay for it out of pocket, but now the cost has become a bit overwhelming and I can’t pay it by myself.
That is why we have a Patreon! Folks who love what we do and want us to not only continue but to improve can give us that financial assistance. Investing in The Geek Lyfe is investing in the community. We go out of our way to highlight hardworking artists, represent the overlooked, and report on the news. We get that not everyone can spend their free time organizing events for charity or pay attention to what is happening so that you can tell others but we can and will.
