How is it going, everyone? Geegiiee here and I have exciting news! Fall is here! So grab your Pumpkin Spice Lattes, a cozy blanket, and dive into some hot new anime. A lot of these series can be found on Crunchyroll!
Ousama Game The Animation
Horror - Mystery - School - Supernatural Release Date: October 5, 2017
“Students in a high school class all receive a strange text message welcoming them to Ousama Game, in which they are given specific tasks to carry out in the next 24 hours or they will be punished in a way specified.”
I am a HUGE fan of anything dark or mind messing and after watching the first episode I have a lot of hope for this one. The deaths are imaginative and gruesome and they do not hold back on it at all within the first episode. My fingers are crossed for some more mind blowing animation and twisted storytelling.
Black Clover
Action - Comedy - Fantasy - Magic - Shounen Release Date: October 3, 2017
“In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent’s spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King. Giving up is never an option!” (Source: Crunchyroll)
All I can say from watching reading the synopsis and watching the trailer is wowee! The fighting style, the animation, the monsters, and the magic it all can be summed up with one word.. “Epic” and here’s hoping the anime lives up to it.
Evil or Live
Horror Release Date: October 11, 2017
“In modern society a new kind of illness is striking the boys and girls of the nation. Loneliness disbelief and outrage push the generation to grow more and more attached to the internet. Doctors and experts have named it “net addiction” and the only cure, rehabilitation. Facilities all around the world are set up where young men and women are sent to put back on the “right path.” As time progresses certain people start to feel as if the facility is nothing more than a hellish prison with no escape.”
Ok so, “net addiction” wow, talk about hitting right where society seems to sit these days. More and more people are starting to escape into their phones or video games so they don’t have to deal with todays issues. Here’s hoping they don’t start building rehab centers for it cause let me tell you, after reading the synopsis I won’t believe anything a doctor tells me about net addiction now. The trailer made little to no sense with its flashing scenes and loud sounds but it still gave me the hibbie jibbies and I can’t wait to start watching it!
Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus’ Bride)
Fantasy - Magic - Slice of Life Release Date: October 8, 2017
“Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again. The man is a “magus,” a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice–and his bride!” (Source: Crunchyroll)
Before I even read the synopsis or watched the trailer, the cover art alone had me interested and caused me to race all over the internet to find out more. This anime looks like its going to be a fantasy lovers dream with just the right amount of feels to tug at your heartstrings. If you haven’t already please go and watch the trailer, the music itself will give you goosebumps.
Juuni Taisen: Zodiac Wars
Action Release Date: October 3, 2017
“The 12th Twelve Tournament that gets held every twelve years, twelve brave warriors who bear the names of the signs of the zodiac fight each other for the lives and souls all to have just one wish granted”
This seems a lot like The Hunger Games but so much more cool! From watching the trailer you can see that not only do the warriors have the names of each of the zodiac but also seem to resemble the animal as well. Its like crazy action fruits basket meets hunger games… well, not really but its literally the first thing I thought of after watching the trailer. I’m pretty pumped to watch a battle royale with such an interesting twist AND I can almost guarantee there will be some pretty epic fights on the horizon.
Let me know which ones you’re going to check out and which must-see ones I’ve missed!
