First Thoughts: Pokemon Go!
Hey everyone! Goyotes here with a piece of news that I’m so excited to share with you! If you haven’t heard about it yet, Pokemon is about to take over the world. That’s right folks. Pokemon announced on September 10th that they are developing a new app with the company Ninantic Labs, the team behind the smartphone game Ingress.
The game has a very long description as an augmented-reality, massively-multiplayer online role-playing, location-based game. In layman’s terms: YOU GET TO CATCH POKEMON IN REAL LIFE! With your phone you can travel the world around you and catch, train, battle, and trade. This game is going to give so many people, including myself, a reason to finally go outside and walk around instead of just sitting on the couch or in your desk chair. I mean the stock for sun screen, and aloe lotion, are going to go up due to the amount of pasty nerds making their way into the sun for that long, but all good things come with a cost.
All joking aside, I am all kinds of excited for this game. I mean, we all wanted to be a Pokemon trainer at some point right? Along with the FREE app, there will be an optional partner device, the Pokemon Go Plus, available for sale to help with your quest to be become the best (THAT EVER WAS, DUN DUN DUN). To no surprise, there will be in-app purchases as well. Currently, the game is dated simply for a 2016 release, with the rumor of a closed beta test coming this winter.
