Five Ways The Gaming Industry Is Changing

Technology is constantly evolving in our lives right now and this evolution isn’t limited to the business/IT worlds. Technology is impacting the way that we do business, the way that we get fit, the way that we learn and more. One of other industries that is being heavily impacted by technology is the gaming industry. The artificial intelligence capabilities as well as the changes to technology are both impacting the way we game, from how we buy our games to where we play them.

Experts around the world are constantly working on how to ensure that gaming is competitive. From Gala Games working with NFTs to Nintendo going the whole hog and creating a world of its own with Disney, the gaming industry is making huge steps in evolution. Below, we’ve got five ways the industry is shifting!

  1. Big players? They’re still here. Since the early 90s and even earlier than that, the bigger players like Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are still out there doing their thing. They are creating better games and better methods for playing, too. You’ve got huge movements in virtual reality, actual video game theme parks and more – all because of the big players that are still in the game.
  2. Mobile gaming is booming. It makes sense – mobile movement is how we all get around these days and with more and more websites working to ensure that they are mobile ready, gaming companies are following suit. The gaming industry is a huge goldmine, and it’s become one of the most lucrative arenas in the world. If you have a company that’s a part of it, you’re in the money.
  3. Games are becoming more instant. We love to get things now, not later, which is why we’re not very good at waiting around anymore for the games that we want to play. Gaming companies are employing instant updates for even faster usage, and games like World of Warcraft are some of the most downloaded games around. Artificial intelligence has massively changed the way that we play, and the board games of the past now feel like “the old way” to play.
  4. Advertising for games is easier than ever. Along with the larger gaming companies, YouTube and social media have helped the gaming world to blow up. Without gamers streaming themselves on YouTube and Twitch, half the games out there wouldn’t get the face time that they do right now.
  5. It’s a multibillion dollar market. Believe it or not, gaming is so huge now that there are billions being made from it! There is big money to be made for game developers and sponsors, and it’s only going to continue to grow. Gaming is changing but for the good. We’re getting more consoles, more downloadable games and better access than ever before. The fact that our favorite companies are still out there creating has ensured that we have an industry that is bigger than anything else out there for entertainment and fun.
