Video games today try their best to make things as realistic as possible by including romance, politics, religion, and various other aspects. One could argue that by playing certain games, it would improve a number of skill sets that you can apply to real life, whether it be direct or indirect.
One such skill set that no doubt is improved upon is gambling! I speak from my own personal experience since I never really had any interest in going to a physical casino or an online casino. Yet I would play games such as Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Fable, Online Casinos like syndicate.casino and more and be in front of a gambling slots.
Each of these games either had classic card games from 21 to Blackjack or their own rendition of a game with a new twist. Some quests required you to not only play these games but understand and master them. I literally had to practice for hours on end to become adept at games of chance in order to understand the risk and reward so I can make proper bets.
Little did I know that at the age of 22 I would have to visit Las Vegas, the home of gambling, for a business conference. After the professional events wrapped up I visited the lobby and was blown away that I understood exactly what was going on at a majority of the tables.
Sitting down with other players, I used what I learned to get as much of an edge as you can in a game of chance. All those hours of playing for fictional currency now translated to actual money. Not to mention playing top rated online casinos or virtual casinos helped me practice in a safe environment without any sort of negative impact until I was ready for the actual game in real life.
