In the First 24 Hours BTS Jimin’s New Song ‘Promise’ Destroys Soundcloud’s Record of the Most Streams Ever
Massively popular Kpop group BTS‘ member Jimin made a new record on SoundCloud with “Promise”.
For 48 hours, “Promise” held the #1 spot on both SoundCloud’s Top 50 and New & Hot charts! At this time, it has more than 15 million plays. The top 5 countries listening to “Promise” were South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan.
The song was so popular that it even overcame Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” which came out last May by 3.6 million listens, according to SoundCloud. That song got 4.9 million streams on the SoundCloud within 24 hours of its release. “Promise” was co-composed by the BTS member, who wrote the lyrics in collaboration with fellow BTS member, RM.
