Lastman is a new animated series that is dope!
What happens when a french team grew up on anime and decide to make their own animated series? You get an incredible series like Lastman! Their art style can totally be seen to have the anime aesthetic but the creator, Jérémie Périn wanted to ensure it had a very gritty and intense reality which can be very different from the more fantastic and whimsical storytelling of many anime series.
The show is live right now and exclusively on VRV’s MONDO channel. The first episode is available and every week they will roll out with another 11 minute episode of incredible animation that will no doubt keep you on the edge of your seat. I am super excited for this series because it just looks so good from an art perspective and I am all about grit!
SYNOPSISDefying genre, Lastman utilizes animation to uniquely combine action, suspense, the supernatural, and mythology into a series that is as intriguing as it is compelling. Richard, a hero who never wanted to be one, must try saving the life of his friend’s daughter, Siri, while trying to save his own life in a boxing ring.
