Review: Game Grumps – Bloodborne
This is our latest set of reviews where we take Game Grumps/Steam Train/Grumpcade episodes and review them to make it easier for fans of Game Grumps to know which ones are must watch(Dog Island) and which ones they can live without seeing(Hotline Miami). I hope you enjoy our reviews, we watch every single episode in the series before we write our thoughts and if possible, we’ll note which episodes were the most memorable. Enjoy!
Shortly after the launch of From software’s latest release, Bloodborne, the Game Grumps tackled it right out of the gates and ended with 76 episodes. This came as a huge surprise to many due to the hosts, Arin and Dan rarely playing new triple A titles. Arin is on the controller while Dan does commentary, this is a great set up due to Arin playing the game also on his off time so his skill is dramatically better than most games he plays, the play-through as a whole seems more streamlined with very rare moments where he does not know where to go.
Arin vows early on to do everything in order to get the best ending for the game, this was entertaining because many fans saw aspects of the game that we did not know about/had not seen. Personally, I am a Wii U player when it comes to consoles and PC for my main gaming, needless to say, I didn’t get a chance to play Bloodborne. I watched hour long speed runs of the game and was under the impression that I saw everything the game had to offer, Game Grumps showed me that this was not the case at all. They fought almost every boss in the game and shared many unforgettable jokes along the way. Unfortunately, a mistake happens towards the end that hinders them from their goal but make up for it.
During the end of episode 57Â they have a great after clip of Dan and Arin attempting to eat a five pound gummy bear and it pretty much goes the way you assume it goes. Amazing.
Overall, I highly recommend watching this play through for the humor, watching the incredible story-line, and watching them legitimately finish a game that is regarded by many to be very difficult. There are jokes about the YMCA songs, references to childhood horror stories, they impersonate Christian Bale(again), and so much more! Above is the playlist of this series for your convenience!
