Super Mario Bros is a fun and entertaining adventure that will delight fans

The new Super Mario Bros film, directed by Illumination, is a fun and entertaining adventure that will delight fans of the classic video game franchise. The film follows Mario and his brother Luigi as they navigate the Mushroom Kingdom and try to save Princess Peach from the clutches of the villainous Bowser.

One of the standout features of the film is its animation, which is colorful, vibrant, and full of personality. The characters are all instantly recognizable, and the world they inhabit is brought to life with a sense of energy and excitement. The animation also allows for some creative and inventive action sequences, as Mario and Luigi jump, spin, and slide their way through various obstacles and challenges.

The voice acting is also top-notch, with Chris Pratt and Charlie Day providing great performances as Mario and Luigi, respectively. Jack Black is also a standout as Bowser, bringing a sense of humor and menace to the character. The rest of the cast, including Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, also do a great job of bringing their characters to life.

One of the strengths of the film is its ability to balance humor and action. There are plenty of jokes and gags throughout the film that will have both kids and adults laughing, but there are also some genuinely thrilling action set-pieces that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The film also has a great sense of pacing, never dragging or feeling too rushed.

However, the film is not without its flaws. While the animation and voice acting are great, the story itself is fairly standard and predictable. Fans of the Super Mario Bros franchise will likely not be surprised by the plot, which involves Mario and Luigi trying to rescue Peach from Bowser’s castle. Additionally, some of the characterizations can feel a bit one-dimensional, with some characters feeling like they are there simply to serve a specific purpose in the plot.

Overall, the new Super Mario Bros film is a fun and entertaining adventure that will delight fans of the franchise. The animation is top-notch, the voice acting is great, and there are plenty of laughs and thrills to be had. While the story may be predictable and some characters may feel one-dimensional, the film’s strengths more than make up for its weaknesses.

I read that illumination is finalizing a Zelda for Nintendo, i had a feeling this would happen after the success of the mario movie. I’ll give illumination the benefit of the doubt and hope they don’t blow a great opportunity with minion humor. I’d perfer a live action movie adaptation over CGI, if they take inspiration from Beowulf or Lord of The Rings under the right guidance from Nintendo it might turn out half way decent.
