If you have finally decided to take the plunge and try out Fortnite Battle Royale, there are a few tips that you are going to need going forward. Asides from checking out all the wonderful things in the Fortnite item shop and thanking the bus driver, you are going to start off looking for your first win. This is much more elusive than you might think, as outlasting many other opponents can be a steep task, especially if you are new to the game.
So, as you can imagine by now, lots of players who have experienced victory will have their tried and tested methods on how they can withstand the barrage of opponents to stand tall by the end. The following tips provided here aren’t exactly exotic, nor will you be winning any accolades for being the most courageous player on the battlefield, but what they will help you work towards that ultimate goal.
Pick Your Battles
This is what I believe to be the most important point. You can make it to the final circle much easier if you take a more passive approach to the match. You effectively want to remain under the radar so to be speak as much as possible, so you can eventually make your way to the latter stages of the battle.
You should avoid fights as much as possible, unless you are absolutely certain that you are engaging in a firefight that you can win. You will also want to make sure that you are leaving no traces behind of where you have been. This can be done by ensuring that you close any doors behind you when you enter buildings, and try not to leave behind any structures where possible so you aren’t giving your position away to the enemy.
There is also a slightly riskier strategy involving hugging the storm wall. This is basically following the storm’s movement to avoid firefights as much as you can. You will need some medkits potentially if you are to adopt this strategy, as you may find yourself dipping in and out to avoid potential enemies.
Focus on the Veterans
It won’t take you long to weed out who are the best players out there on the field. You’ll see extravagant and effective bases being built in all the right areas, and taking down all in their wake. Rather than approaching them early on, build upon the previous tip and advance cautiously. And perhaps most importantly, keep an eye on what they are doing exactly.
Odds are that the last opponent has the high ground, which to an extent gives them a huge advantage. This is where your cunning and (hopefully) knowledge of basic building comes in. Whilst the opponent is taking out the last remaining enemies, your task is to keep your profile low and infiltrate the structure from below.
By doing this, you are keeping out of plain sight of the enemy you are wanting to kill, and it gives you the chance to even shoot out lower structures that could cause an almighty collapse and a plummet to the death that awards you victory royale for the first time.
The Aggressive Approach
Which sort of leads onto our next point, at least from the structural standpoint. This tip however, doesn’t really focus on such passive (or cowardly) techniques as the other ways that we have highlighted previously. Going in hard always leaves you more vulnerable compared to playing it safe of course, but it can also work heavily in your favour.
This is because you have the ability to apply the pressure very effectively, perhaps more so than any other Battle Royale game. This is down to the game’s building mechanic, which is what your focus will be here. You are going to want to keep your focus on taking down your enemy’s structures, which will force them to respond by having to replace what you have destroyed. All the while, you can be rushing towards with a shotgun to raise all kinds of hell. By taking out their walls and so forth prior with an assault rifle or rocket launcher to keep your foe rattled, and make the most of their focus on rebuilding rather than you bearing down on them.
With these tips, you should be achieving Fortnite victory royale in no time at all. They are differing in ways, which is a good thing since there is enough variety for you to apply your playstyle to them. The important point to remember is to not only work hard, but make sure you also work smart.
