3 Great TTRPGs That Aren’t D&D

Table Top Role Playing Games are a hobby shared by many geeks around the globe! By picking up a single book you can learn how to create a character, build a fantasy world, and embark on epic quests of might and magic! However, when people talk about TTRPGs, they tend to only focus on one game: Dungeons & Dragons. While I have an immense love for D&D, I still appreciate the vast amounts of unique RPGs out there and wanted to share them with you!

When you aren’t playing CasinoChan no deposit bonus , you’ll have to check out Vampire the Masquerade, Kids on Bikes, and Tales of Xadia. These three games feature distinct worlds, rules, and more for your gaming pleasure!

Vampire the Masquerade

If you ever wanted to know what it was like to walk the path of night, feeding on unsuspecting mortals, and wielding immense power then Vampire the Masquerade is for you! In this TTRPG, you play as a kindred from a distinct clan, each clan offers its own benefits and hindrances. You then attempt to survive in a world of darkness where you constantly have to maintain the masquerade of being a human while also avoiding conflict with vampiric peers and even avoiding attracting the attention of vampire hunters.

The system is very easy to learn as it uses 10 sided dice for every roll and you’ll simply assemble a dice pool depending on how skilled you are at the task you are performing.

Kids on Bikes

If you love the action, adventure, and goofiness from small town, big adventure media such as Stranger Things, Goonies, and IT then you’ll love Kids on Bikes! Kids on Bikes is a TTRPG that focuses on playing a normal child, teenager, or adult with access to normal materials. Meanwhile, there is a sinister plot threatening the lives of the town and it is up to the main characters to somehow solve this mystery or help their powered friend in stopping the threat. Because of the fact that you are normal people, it makes every decision to fight or flee even more intense!

The dice system is very easy using single dice rolls that represent your skills. You’ll roll to see if you beat the difficulty check and the difference between what you rolled and what you needed matters tremendously. This game can easily be learned in one play session!

Tales of Xadia

Granted, at the time of writing this, I have only played the playtest materials since the full game will release at the end of March 2022.

If you enjoy a fantasy adventure with swords and magic yet crave something more unique then that is what Tales of Xadia offers! Because Tales of Xadia is based off Netflix’s Dragon Prince. Dragon Prince has rich lore with warring human kingdoms, incredibly diverse elvish culture, and a magic system that is fun!

The dice system uses the Cortex RPG system which involves dice pools. For every positive aspect of your character that is relevant to the situation, you’ll add that die to the pool and then roll to see if you are able to succeed in the task. You are also given plot points to assist in unique ways and more!

All three of these games are a blast to play and I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to spice up their home sessions! If you have more suggestions feel free to submit them!
