Adventures at the Hello Kitty Festival 2015!

This last weekend I was lucky enough to attend Hello Kitty’s very first Super Cute Friendship Festival! I had received an email about it from Hello Kitty and had heard enough radio ads about it that I knew that I just HAD to go. The festival is a traveling one and there are plenty more dates if you or any Sanrio lover you may know wants to attend!  Here is the link if you’d like to attend after you see the glory that was the Friendship festival!

I’m a HUGE Hello Kitty fan, being a small Japanese girl I feel as if I was born with a love of tiny red bows in my DNA, so attending the festival was a no-brainer. The festival is aimed at children, so be warned…there are many. However there are tons of collector’s items to be bought that are exclusive to the festival and plenty of cool photo opportunities with the high quality displays that are there! There are numerous performances done by Hello Kitty and her touring pals, plus photo opportunities with all of them. I wasn’t able to meet my hero Purin, but I feel as if it was my mistake for not getting a schedule pamphlet. If you go make sure to get one!!

If you don’t like performances aimed at children and are more of a collector this event might not be for you. I’m a pretty big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba and enjoyed their show immensely when I saw them live. Don’t knock it till you try it, they had fabulous production values and Biz Markie showed up… HOWEVER. I do urge you to give it a chance! It was just so darn sweet and cute that I loved every minute of it! If you enjoy singing, dancing, shopping and people in enormous mascot costumes then this festival is for you!

Take a look at the gallery to see what we did! 😀

2nd in command for Starship Geek Lyfe, Spocktopus is awesome incarnate. She loves all things geeky and has no problem letting the world know. Checking her bank account, you may be surprised by just how much of her finances goes to video games, various geeky box services, anime, manga, seasons of TV shows and so much more. Her passion far exceeds just being a spectator though as she actively cosplays, making crafts for different fandoms and even gifts for fellow Geek Lyfe fans for giveaways!
