ISACA – Combines Skills Training for the Cyber Security with Examinations and Certifications Based on Practical Operation Firstly

A business news is delivered from Rolling Meadows, Illinois that the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) today announced the launch of a new combination of the Cyber Security Certification that combines skills training with examination and certification based on the practical operation for the first time. These seven new Cyber security Nexus (CSX) certifications help professionals plan and grow their careers improvement in an ever-changing field, while helping employers cover the shortage of the skills. Global Knowledge, a leading provider in the field of the IT and business skills training, is the first training provider licensed by ISACA to deliver the CSX portfolio, which would open in the third quarter of 2015.

According to “The State of Cyber Security: Impact in 2015,” a study by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the RSA Conference, 82 percent of organizations expect to be vulnerable to cyber attacks in 2015, while 35 percent are unable to fill vacant cyber security positions. Fewer than a half of the organizations believe their existing security teams are capable of detecting and responding to complex incidents. In addition, according to the Report on the Work of the Cyber Security 2014 released by Cisco, there are still one million network security positions unfilled worldwide. This gap between supply and demand is hastening the forming of the widespread computer vulnerabilities. There is a evident fact that cyber attacks rank as the top technology risk in the World Economic Forum’s The Global Risks Report 2015.

CSX is a resource of expertise, tools, guidance, and training for professionals at every stage of their careers, with which ISACA is helping to frame a global network of cyber security personnel training to combat advanced cyber threats while providing organizations with confidence that they can identify and hire employees with the corresponding skills.

CSX training and certification are currently available for skilled personnel and those who have worked in this major throughout their career. Previously, ISACA has offered the Certified Information Security Member ( CISM) designation to people at the management level, as well as the fundamentals certification of the cyber security to the beginners in the field. Although the certification does not require training before the examination, but gives them the proposal to participate in training. The following certifications are brand-new.

CSX Practitioner demonstrates the ability to act as a personnel who can respond to network security events in the first place according to established procedures and defined processes. (It includes one certification and three training courses. And it is the essential requirements for the certification of the CSX Specialist).

CSX Specialists demonstrates effective skills and deep knowledge in one or more of the five areas (Identification, Detection, Protection, Response, and Recovery) closely related to the Cyber Security Framework of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. (It includes five certifications and five training courses. It requires the qualification of the CSX Practitioner)

CSX Expert demonstrates the capabilities of a Master/Expert level cyber security professional to identify, analyze, respond to, and resolve complex cyber security incidents. (It includes one certification and one training course. There is no preconditions.)

These new certifications are in line with globally recognized standards and frameworks, including the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cyber Security of the NIST, NIST SP 800-53 Edition 4, ISO 27000 and the COBIT 5 framework.

Holding the Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), as the international President of the ISACA and vice President in the Strategic Innovation of the CA Technologies, Robert E Stroud said: The ISACA*click here* sponsors realized the necessity of providing the different ways of cyber security training and certification. Because global companies need more discovery and effective way to hire skilled professionals. In today’s ever-threatening environment, relying on technicians who are lack of skills training and certifications is like relying on an army that has read military strategy but has never been on the ground.”

CSX Training and Certification was initiated two years ago by the Global Chief Information Security Officer and other cyber security experts and judged with rigorous review by more than 100 experts. These innovative course implementations and testing programs are cooperative crystallization of the ISACA and TeleCommunication Systems Inc(NASDAQ:TSYS)’s cyber security team, which is called the Art of Exploitation (AoE). TCS is a global leader in the field of the cyber security training and enterprise solutions.

Innovative Virtual Cyber Lab

A practical and adaptive lab environment of the network is a key feature of training skills and certification programs of the CSX. Professionals’ skills and abilities are evaluated in a virtual environment with the help of real network security situations.

A Learning Development Tool to Evaluate the Ability of Professionals to Perform Cyber Security Tasks

Performanscore is created specifically by AOE team of the TCS. It is designed to help trainers demonstrate professional guidance based on professional problem-solving methods. Recognizing that there are multiple ways to respond to the cyber security threats, Performanscore has a unique ability to measure the practical skills of a complete combination of possible solutions. This tool compares professional behavior to the scoring criteria and then instantly refers to the adaptive scoring rules, enabling mentors to provide specific feedback and enabling professionals to learn and understand more effective cyber security techniques better. ISACA was the first organization to offer Performanscore.

“The new CSX certification will provide a benchmark to help people shape the future of cyber security recruiting and career development.” said Eddie Schwartz, president and Chief Operating Officer of WhiteOps and chairman of the ISACA Cyber Security Group, who is the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and the Certified Information Security Member (CISM). “Making cyber security skills keep up with the future situation is a dynamic target, and CSX certification will improve itself with the development of industry evolution, which ensures that our team has the most valuable and new skills and ensures that the organization understands whether the job seekers have ability to deal with the network security events on the first day of work or not.”

Certification Situation and the Future Education

The certification training of the CSX Practitioner will be offered in June 2015, with the exam scheduled for July. Training and examinations for the CSX Specialist and CSX Expert Certification are scheduled for the second half of 2015. In addition to the learning based on the professional knowledge, continuous professional education (CPE) requires the licensee to demonstrate skills annually in a laboratory or other skills-based setting. Holders are required to re-examine at their highest level of certification every three years.
