This time around, we dive into your weekly Nerd News, which revolves around “new movie trailers.” We’ve got everyone’s favorite neighborhood spider, everyone’s favorite clandestine assassin, and everyone’s favorite ghost hunters. ALL ABOARD THE HYPETRAIN!

Spider-Man: Far From Home

We’ve finally got the trailer! (Maybe sooner than we deserved, seeing as how Avengers: Endgame hasn’t had a theatrical release yet, but let’s glaze over that.) We get to see Jake Gyllenhaal in all his Mysterio glory. We get to see a couple of new spider suits, and potential bad guys too. Ghostbusters 3

Okay, we know there’s not a whole to go off of from this epitome of a teaser. But c’mon, the announcement of a canonical third Ghostbusters movie is biblical! Getting to see the Ecto-1 escape from its dusty prison is satisfaction enough. Then the iconic proton pack sound. UGH! It’s just too good! Let’s move on before this turns NSFW.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

John Wick 3; looks like more of the same. And if you’re upset by that, you’re wrong. John Wick is, at its core, a mindless action flick. They know where their bread is buttered: quick cuts, lots of gun-fu, and cinematography that includes bright colors against dark colors. It’s an equation that’s worked for them since the beginning, and “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This third installment pits John Wick against everyone in the clandestine syndicate, from which Wick is now “excommunicato.”
